Pittsford Community Collaboration Task Force Announced

Ad Hoc volunteer group to identify collaborative opportunities, make recommendations

The Pittsford Community Collaboration Task Force has been appointed and is currently working to identify additional or new opportunities for collaborative efforts between the Town, Village, and Pittsford Central School District. Preliminary organizational meetings were held in November and December of last year; work is now underway to identify and quantify current collaborative efforts and to research methods of collaboration used by other communities.

The full task force meets twice a month but will also be breaking into various sub-committees to explore in more depth specific areas of potential for collaboration. The members of the Pittsford Community Collaboration Task Force include:

  • Margaret Covney, Chair
  • Christopher Rodi, Vice-Chair
  • Lisa Cove
  • Edward Doherty
  • Scott D. Hall
  • Paula Liebschutz
  • Diane Prososki Lockwood
  • Caroline Jonah Merenda
  • Karen Pond

The task force’s nine members were selected from a community-wide pool of applicants. Two representatives each from the Town, Village, and School District also sit on the committee as liaisons.  They include:

Town liaisons: Sandy Zutes, Deputy Supervisor; Paul Schenkel, Commissioner of Public Works

Village liaisons: Trip Pierson, Village Trustee; Lorie Boehlert, Village Trustee

School District liaisons: Michael Pero, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources; Jeff Beardsley, Director of Operations

The Pittsford Community Collaboration Task Force was established by the Pittsford Collaborative Leadership Team, a group comprised of Pittsford town, village and school district officials with a shared mission to determine areas in which the three entities can share resources and collaborate for “the betterment of all who live, work, play and learn in the Pittsford community” while continuing to achieve the mission and goals of each entity.
