Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, the RMCYB, and MCOFA, will be hosting the first Intergenerational Fall Clean-Up on October 15th at 9 a.m.
The Clean-Up will consist of Monroe County high school youth volunteering in groups of 3, visiting 60 identified homes of seniors to assist them with typical, fall yard work and cleaning - raking and gathering leaves; sweeping porches and walkways; and hauling bags of collected leaves and yard debris to the curbs. This initiative is another effort in a series of intergenerational programs and events that the County has created to bring our seniors and youth together and collaborate in positive situations.
The event will kick-off at 9 am at the Monroe Community Hospital Parking Lot where youth will receive instructions, free t-shirt, and supplies.
